So how about this Fairness Doctrine Obama is talking about? It’s similar to Affirmative Action. It’s basically saying that he is going to go to private companies, such as a Talk Radio station, and tell them they have to provde equal air time for different interest groups. For example, Rush Limbaugh is on an AM Talk Radio station nearby, and according to the Fairness doctrine, that private radio station is forced to broadcast someone who represents the liberal side of things. If they don’t, they run the risk of losing their broadcast license. This is a First Amendment issue. This is repressing free speech, and its also more government control of private industry. The FCC does enough to repress private industry, but this Fairness Doctrine… It’s a blatant attack on our right to free speech. It is completely unconstitutional, and shouldn’t even be considered. The liberal control of our government has already put the Mortgage, Banking, and Auto industries, some of the largest in the country, into their control. General Motors, because they recieved Bailout money, has to cut employees to meet the requirements. I thought that Obama and the liberal Congress were trying to create jobs? Guess not. All they want is bigger government and government control of more and more of the country. This “Pork”ulus Package is complete deficit spending, but didn’t Democrats constantly criticize Bush for doing the same? Hmm…

Economics 101 will tell you that to create jobs, you give tax cuts to big companies, so that they save money and can in turn spend that on salaries for new jobs. You don’t spend billions on infrastructure jobs that are going to disappear in a couple years. You spend the billions on companies that can provide jobs with benefits and health care and 401k’s to people, and these jobs are careers, not a job between jobs like what the stimulus package is providing.

Obama needs to stop rewarding the losers for losing and punishing the winners for winning. What we need are policies that provide opportunities for people to work for their own benefit. What Obama is doing is creating a generation who expect the government to do everything for them. Lets hope that he screws things up enough that America wises up and votes some Republicans back in power. This one sided government is doing nothing but hurting everyone.

I thought this was rather funny. And relevant to all of us Interwebians.

Why must people argue over the Blogonet? Is it because they don’t have the courage to do so in person? Or is it that Intertubes-old way of picking on people, also known as “trolling.” I’ll admit, it is very funny to watch trolling from the outside, and probably is from the perspective of the troll, but the troll-ee, as we will call him, will most likely not find it as funny as everyone else and react in a way just as funny, if not funnier, than the original trolling itself. But this is just a light jest? Or is it a watered down version of bullying, that most of us as children experienced? As it should be, most people are mature enough to take the trolling and continue to joke back, but sometimes that is not the case. I’m sure we have all heard stories of people being made fun of so much and to such a degree that they either take their own life or someone else’s. It’s a sad truth that we all must realize when we troll we could be doing serious damage to that persons emotional health.

Anyways I was thinking about how some scientists believe the universe is expanding, so thus it must have some finiteness, some end, sort of like a giant bubble that we can only in theory even think about seeing if there’s something on the other side. I also got to thinking about what I had learned in high school physics, and it was one of those random facts that don’t really pertain to the material being covered but you remember it better than anything else? You know how in the diagram of an atom, there’s the nucleus with all the protons and neutrons, and then around that the electrons orbit? Well most of that diagram is empty space. And when atoms bond it is only the electron fields overlapping, so it is still mostly empty space. And thus the argument can be made that we are all mostly empty space. And with the universe theme still fresh in my mind, I remembered that most of the universe is empty space…

Now my brain really starts to go abstract and I make a connection…

What if atoms ARE universes? That the more we look into atoms and break their parts up into smaller and smaller pieces, that we might just discover what we call a universe? Or that if we actually look far enough that we look past the edge of our universe, and find we’re much smaller than we ever imagined, and that the vastness of the universe is only a speck in the larger picture? Our brains would take something we have learned since we could remember to be so abstractly small, and something so unimaginably big, and find them out to be one in the same. This probably stretches even the mind of a expert physicist to the edge. It’s like Horton Hears A Who, where the big elephant Horton finds a whole civilization on a tiny flower. We have no idea how large or small of a role that we play in this physical world, and we can only hope to conceive even the smallest bit of what goes on.

I think this is going to be more of a random blog more than anything else. I’ll just post thoughts I think of randomly and happen to remember when I’m at a computer, or things I find interesting, etc.
